あなたがたの手紙に多くの感謝をします。
私たちもまた、AWCがさる3月16日の第13回総会の討議において、とすなわち、ここキャンプ・ビンセンテ・リムの政治犯の解放と自由のためのキャンペーンを支援する私たちの事件と提案に参加するよう努力することに大変感謝します。あなたがたが3月12日の手紙で求められている必要なデータが、わたしたちのおよそ2年間の拉致と違法拘束についてその内容と具体的な状況に関して提供が充分であると私たちは望んでいます。ローマがさる3月14日にあなた方にデータを送りました。政治犯のプロフィール、拉致の状況、獄中の環境、政府と警察軍によって訴えられた反乱罪事件の状態、です。説明されるのに必要となり、知らしめるのに勝手のいいと感じるような、追加の質問があるなら、わたしたちは、もっとも喜んでそれを明確化にするでしょう。
私たちもまたあなた方に、獄中処遇を詳細に述べたさる2007年11月の正義と人権に関するフィリピン上院委員会に提出した、私たちの解説ペーパーを、ローマを通じて、メールでおくりました。フィリピン上院は、新しい監獄改革法をつくるために、最近、獄中処遇を調査しているところです。
AWCがすでにわたしたちのための写真を使ったキャンペーン・チラシつくることができることに、わたしたちはまったく幸せです。そうしたキャンペーン資料は、より多くの日本民衆、団体、市民運動がフィリピン法システムの最近の状態や、この国の全面的な人権状況を知る助けとなるでしょう。わたしたちは、また、AWCを通じて集められた三度目の連帯メッセージを待っています。

わたしたちは、政治犯救援のキャンペーンに関するAWC第13回総会の決定を知ることになりうるのでしょうね。わたしたちは謙虚に提案できるのでしょうね。AWCがキャンペーンを他のグループや団体、クリスチャンやカソリックの教会でさえ手を広げた、広い支援キャンペーンを展開し、作り出していくことについてですが。すなわち、大学の若い団体、京都の龍谷大学や立命館大学の教授たち、国会議員や地方自治体の職員（元の参議院議員であり現知事の堂本のような）、そして土浦―筑波の学術都市の科学者や環境問題グループ（茨城県の、あなた方は、1990年代のラグナ湖やカラカ石炭火力発電所の反odaキャンペーンでアリスさんといっしょに活動した、ハラダ・タイにコンタクトできる）、カソリック教会では、横浜カソリック教区のFr．ポール・オクラ、彼は、いまでもフィリピンの元軍隊慰安婦キャンペーンを非常に活発に行っている。
幾つかの最新情報：さる3月12日～14日、私たちの3名－リエル・カストディオ、アレックス・ピンピン、アリス・サルミエント－は、「（アロヨ）夫婦を拘留せよ！政治犯に自由を！」のスローガンで、マニラの宗教団体から呼びかけられた正義と真実を求める断食闘争に加わった。わたしたちの抗議断食は、さる3月14日マニラの大集会の前に行われた。その集会には、約1万が参加し、ほとんどが大学の若い人びとだけだった。
わたしたちはまた、2008年3月10日の朝、カビテの日本人オーナーのヤザキ－ＥＭＩ会社における労働組合の元委員長のゲリー・クリストバル同志の冷血なさ津人を深く悲しみ、非常に強く抗議する。クリストバルさんは、2005年1月以降、すでに、ヤザキ・カビテの組合活動家・地域活動家の不可思議で未解決の連続し殺害された4番目の労働組合役員なのである。カビテ労働者運動の私たちの同志たちは、この連続殺人に関する支援キャンペーンのために、AWCやとくに自立労連と調整するであろう。アリスさんがさる2006年12月、フィリピンの日本人の前大使ヤマザキ・リュウイチロウに手紙を書いた。ヤマザキ先生は、そのとき、連続殺人に憂慮しているとかれのスタッフに言ったが、職員の誰も動かなかった。
わたしたちは あなたがた・AWCに、さる2008年2月の沖縄女子中学生とフィリピン海外労働者の最近のレイプ事件に抗議する、別紙の支援声明を送った。

And Illegal Detention
Dear Mine-san,
Many thanks for your letters dated February 20; March 12; and March 15, 2008.
We also appreciate very much AWC’s efforts to include our case and our proposal for a support campaign for the release and freedom of political prisoners here at Camp Vicente Lim for discussion during the 13th General Meeting of AWC last March 16. We hope that necessary data you were asking in your March 12 letter are sufficient to provide the context and concrete circumstances regarding our almost two-year abduction and illegal detention. Roma sent the data to you last March 14, including the profiles of the political prisoners; circumstances of abduction; prison conditions; and status of rebellion case filed by the government and security forces. If there are further questions that need to be addressed, feel free to inquire and we would be most willing to clarify them.
We also emailed to you, through Roma, our exposition paper submitted to the Senate of the Philippines Committee on Justice and Human Rights last November 2007 which detailed our prison conditions. The Philippine Senate is currently investigating prison conditions in order to make new Prison Reform Law.
We are quite happy that AWC is already able to make campaign handbills for us with our pictures. Such campaign materials will help more Japanese people, organizations, and citizens movement become aware of the current state of Philippine justice system and the overall human rights situation here. We also wait for the 3rd series of solidarity messages gathered through AWC.
Yes, Mine-san, we have been informed that a Japanese activist will see us in the very near future. Our organizations and relatives are already making preparations for their arrival and visit to us.
May we know the decision of the 13th AWC General meeting regarding the release and freedom campaign for the political prisoners. May we humbly suggest that AWC make the campaign a broad support campaign by reaching out to other groups, organizations, and even Christian/Catholic churches; youth groups in colleges and universities; some professors in Ryokoku University or Reitsumeikan University in Kyoto; Diet members or local government officials (like Domoto who was a former Senator, now governor); and scientists and environmental groups in Tsuchiura-Tsukuba Science City (in Ibaraki-ken, you can contact Harada Tai, who worked closely with Aris-san during the Laguna Lake and Calaca coal-fried power plant anti-ODA campaigns in the 1990s). For the Catholic Church, you may contact Fr. Paul Okura of the Catholic Diocese of Yokohama, who is still a very active campaigner for the Filipino comfort women campaign.
Some updates: Last March 12-14, the three of us – Riel Custodio, Axel Pinpin and Aris Sarmiento – joined a Fasting for Justice and Truth called by some religious groups in Manila with the slogan “Jail the Couple, Free the Political Prisoners”. Our Protest Fast was held before a big rally in Manila last March 14 which was attended by almost 10,000 people but mostly young people from colleges and universities.
We also grieve and protest very strongly the cold-blooded murder of Comrade Gerry Cristobal, former union president of Japanese owned Yazaki-EMI Corporation in Cavite in the morning of March 10, 2008. Cristobal-san is already the fourth union officer murdered in the mysterious and unsolved serial killings of unionists and activists in Yazaki Cavite since January 2005. Our comrades in Cavite labor movement will also coordinate with AWC or particularly ALUI for campaign support on this serial killings. Aris-san wrote a letter to the former Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines, Yamazaki Ryuichiro last December 2006. Yamazaki-sensei told his staff that he was concerned with the serial killings then, but made no official move.
